Conversion Training Course – Counterbalance and Reach Trucks
Course Introduction
This course is designed for certificated operators who may be required to operate more than one type of truck. Further basic training relating to that particular type of truck conversion training is essential, including the understanding of the engineering principles and safe operational practices of the new type of lift truck that they will be required to operate. The operators must be certificated on a lift truck before attending conversion training for other types of lift trucks.
Course Aims
Upon completion of our course, participants will prove they still have the skills and knowledge required to operate lift trucks safely and efficiently, taking both theoretical and practical tests. The practical test will be either the JIC recommended test, the NPORS test, or an appropriate test devised to incorporate the operational use of the lift truck within the trainee’s working environment. The practical test will be decided upon prior to the commencement of the course, depending on a site survey or information provided by the company requesting training.
Please Note
When trainees are required to operate both types of lift trucks, we advise that they attend the basic training on the reach truck, and then attend conversion training on the counterbalance truck.
